04/06/2018MikeDavisI parked on Mill Road just beyond Cromford Wharf/Mill without any trouble if you are using a satnav the post code is DE4 3RQ and grid reference is SK 298 570 or thereabouts.This is quite a gentle walk of approx 8 miles called Mills and Hills. Not many hills but a couple of interesting mills including Smedley mill which has I am told been in continuous production for over 200 years. Lots of industrial history on this walk but this is levened by a deer park, Florence Nightingales summer House and a woodland walk back to the car.

Parking on RHS layby on Hopwood Rd at top of this lane or LHS layby 75yds further on by Stannington sign where Hopwood Rd becomes Stannington Rd Walking for approx 8miles via Coppice Lane, Coppice Rd (track) Blackbrook Wood, Fox Hagg and Wymingbrook Nature Reserves, Moorwood Lane, Twentyfields back to start.Summer barbecue at Jane's house.
